Chris & Karri Brinnen

Owner/Operators

Our vision for Canine Heroes Kennel comes from deep in our hearts. From working police dogs that search for missing people and protect the public, to the family dog that provides a therapy snuggle and wag of the tail – they are all heroes.

Our dog kennels are designed to make your pup feel like they're at home and loved.

We have six indoor dog kennels ranging from 20-25 square feet, and two dog kennels with runs for the outdoor rugged types. Rest assured, your pups will have customized care when and where it’s needed.

A little about us...

Chris is an absolute dog enthusiast! So much so, he joined the RCMP in 1997 with the goal of becoming a dog handler. Chris has spent over two decades working with police dogs – and there's no doubt, training dogs is his passion and his gift. He continues to mentor young handlers in their careers and is a Director on the Canadian Police Canine Association Board of Directors.

Karri can never remember a time in her life when a dog did not play a special role in her family. From small to large, Shih Tzus to German Shepherds and everything in between, her pups have been part of the family. Karri recently retired from a long career in corporate governance and currently sits as Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Okanagan.

"A dog wags its tail with its heart." - Martin Buxbaum

Cooper will greet our guests with a wag of his tail and a little bark. He's happily lived alongside working dogs his entire life and definitely knows his place on the farm. Cooper is unbelievably intuitive and knows when someone needs a little extra attention. He's truly our family hero!
