Chris & Karri Brinnen

Owner/Operators

Our vision for Canine Heroes Kennel comes from deep in our hearts. From working police dogs that search for missing people and protect the public, to the family dog that provides a therapy snuggle and wag of the tail – they are all heroes.

A little about us...

Chris is an absolute dog enthusiast! So much so, he joined the RCMP in 1997 with the goal of becoming a dog handler. Chris has spent over two decades working with police dogs – and there's no doubt, training dogs is his passion and his gift. He continues to mentor young handlers in their careers and is a Director on the Canadian Police Canine Association Board of Directors. Chris has also recently been elected to the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Search Dog Association.  Chris is a certified remote collar instructor with the CPCA.

Karri can never remember a time in her life when a dog did not play a special role in her family. From small to large, Shih Tzus to German Shepherds and everything in between, her pups have been part of the family. Karri recently retired from operating the dog kennel & is currently a Board of Director of Interior Savings Credit Union.

"A dog wags its tail with its heart." - Martin Buxbaum

Cooper will greet our guests with a wag of his tail and a little bark. He's happily lived alongside working dogs his entire life and definitely knows his place on the farm. Cooper is unbelievably intuitive and knows when someone needs a little extra attention. He's truly our family hero!
